TERMS
Terms of Service
Draft dated October 15, 2026.
These terms, website use, and contracted services
These terms cover general use of this website. Services performed for an author are governed by a separate written proposal or service agreement.
A project begins only when both parties accept a written proposal or service agreement. That document defines the scope, deliverables, fees, payment schedule, revision limits, and responsibilities for the engagement. Until it is accepted, nothing on this website creates a project, a booking, or an obligation to perform work.
Project Review and Acceptance
All project inquiries are subject to review and acceptance by RFP Publishing. Submission of an inquiry, manuscript, or other project materials does not establish a client relationship or obligate RFP Publishing to provide services.
RFP Publishing retains discretion to accept or decline proposed projects based on editorial suitability, subject matter, project scope, available capacity, scheduling, professional standards, or other legitimate business considerations, consistent with applicable law.
A project is accepted only when both parties have agreed to its scope, terms, and fees in a written service agreement.
RFP Publishing is not obligated to provide a detailed explanation when declining a proposed project. Any decision to decline a project will be made in accordance with applicable law.
Website descriptions, prices, and timelines are informational
Tier ranges, starting rates, and timelines shown on this site are informational estimates. They are not an offer, not a binding quote, and not a commitment to any particular scope of work. They describe typical work for manuscripts of the length stated.
Quotes, scope, and payment
Scope, deliverables, fees, schedules, and payment terms are established in a written proposal or agreement accepted before work begins. Every quote is itemized, and each service states what it includes and what it does not.
Author rights, royalties, and publishing accounts
The author retains copyright and ownership of the manuscript and publishing rights in the completed book. Under this author-services model, RFP Publishing does not acquire publishing rights in the author’s work and receives no share of royalties from the author’s publications.
The author publishes through the author’s own publishing accounts, including KDP, IngramSpark, or other platforms the author chooses, and retains ownership and control of those accounts. Royalties from those platforms are paid to the author directly.
Third-party assets and licensed materials
Third-party materials incorporated into a project, such as stock artwork, fonts, templates, or licensed images, remain subject to their own licenses and terms.
RFP Publishing cannot transfer ownership of, or grant rights in, materials it does not own or is not permitted to transfer. The signed project agreement identifies what is provided or licensed for the author’s use and any limits that apply to it.
Cancellation, refunds, and termination
Either party may request termination of a service engagement in accordance with the applicable signed agreement. Upon termination, RFP Publishing may charge for services actually performed through the effective termination date and reasonable, documented, previously approved nonrecoverable project expenses. Unearned prepaid service fees will be refunded. The signed agreement will specify how completed work, expenses, deliverables, and any refund are calculated.
Prepaid amounts, including deposits and milestone payments, are applied against services performed and are subject to the refund of unearned fees described above. They are not automatically nonrefundable.
Project schedules and author participation
Estimated timelines describe typical work rather than fixed deadlines. Actual schedules depend on the readiness of the manuscript, the scope of the work, the author’s feedback and decisions, timely provision of materials, and the revisions agreed in the proposal.
Additional work outside the agreed scope
Work that falls outside the agreed scope requires written authorization before it begins and may involve additional charges.
Confidentiality and generative AI tools
Client materials are treated as confidential. That confidentiality is subject to disclosures that are necessary and appropriately controlled for performing the agreed services, disclosures required by law, and disclosures the client expressly authorizes.
RFP Publishing may engage qualified independent contractors or subcontractors to perform portions of the services described in a signed project agreement, including editing, cover design, formatting, and related production work.
Contractors who require access to confidential client manuscripts or project materials must agree to appropriate confidentiality obligations before receiving those materials. Access will be limited to what is reasonably necessary to perform their assigned work.
RFP Publishing remains responsible to the client for fulfilling its obligations under the applicable signed service agreement.
RFP Publishing will not submit a client’s nonpublic manuscript, unpublished creative work, or other confidential project materials to a third-party generative AI service without first obtaining the client’s informed written consent.
Consent may be documented in the signed project agreement or in a separate written authorization. The authorization must identify the AI provider, the intended use, and the categories of client materials that may be submitted.
Authorization is limited to the provider, purpose, and categories of materials identified in the client’s consent. RFP Publishing will obtain renewed written permission before materially changing the intended use, changing the AI provider, or expanding the categories of confidential materials submitted.
Clients may decline authorization for proposed AI use. Declining authorization does not constitute consent, and RFP Publishing will not submit the client’s confidential materials for that proposed use without permission.
Feedback and decisions
Feedback reflects professional judgment and is offered to support the author’s growth. The author retains responsibility for creative and publishing decisions.
No guaranteed outcomes
RFP Publishing does not guarantee book sales, rankings, revenue, earnings, traditional publishing acceptance, or any other commercial outcome.
RFP Publishing does not control third-party publishing platforms such as KDP or IngramSpark and does not guarantee that a manuscript or book will be approved, accepted, or distributed by them. Those platforms are independent services governed by their own terms, review processes, pricing, and distribution decisions.
Relationship to a signed agreement
A signed project agreement governs the particular engagement, and it should identify which terms control if it conflicts with these general website terms. This draft assumes the signed agreement controls; that point needs legal review before these terms are final.

Draft — pending owner review
This page is a working draft and deliberately avoids stating commercial terms that have not been decided. It is not final until the items below are resolved and the owner explicitly approves publication. An internal version of this list is kept in the site administration area.
- — The legal name and form of the business have been confirmed as RFP Publishing LLC, a single-member LLC registered in South Dakota. The correct governing-law and jurisdiction wording still need legal drafting.
- — Which document controls if these website terms conflict with a signed project agreement needs legal review. This draft assumes the signed agreement controls.
- — Limitation of liability, dispute resolution, and termination procedures have not been drafted and need legal review.
- — How completed work and nonrecoverable project expenses are calculated on termination must be specified in the project agreement template.
- — The owner has established a project-specific written-authorization requirement for generative AI use: the AI provider, intended purpose, and categories of confidential materials must be identified; renewed written authorization is required for material changes; consent records are retained with project documentation; and a client’s refusal is respected. Selection of actual AI providers, verification of provider data-handling, retention, and training policies, creation of an operational consent template or project-agreement clause, and legal review of the consent language remain open.
- — The owner has selected a policy allowing qualified independent contractors subject to appropriate confidentiality obligations. The operational requirement to establish and use written contractor confidentiality agreements before providing access to confidential client materials remains open, and the precise contractual language needs legal review.
- — A business email address (michael@michaeljedmond.com) has been published for contractual inquiries. A dedicated postal address and phone number have not been published and remain open.
- — The effective date remains pending approval.
